Hello Bradley Families!
Event ends on Monday, March 7th!
Bradley’s first graders are diving into their Unit of Inquiry, Share the Planet. As part of our research, we are learning how human pollution continues to accumulate in the ocean and the effect it’s having on the coral reefs, kelp forests, animals and so much more.
An integral part of our IB programme is to guide students to take action as a result of their learning. Several years ago the first grade team and students (now fifth graders) discovered a company called 4ocean. They are an organization founded by 2 surfers who grew tired of all of the trash on the coast and in the ocean. 4ocean creates bracelets and other products from the glass, plastic and metal they collect from their cleanups. Each product sold generates enough money to collect up to one pound of trash. You can learn more about the company here, https://4ocean.com/pages/our-story .
As part of our action, we would like to sell 4ocean products from February 28th– March 7th. 4ocean is generous enough to sell their items at wholesale price to Bradley for our efforts to protect the ocean. If we sell 125 water bottles, 4Ocean will print the BRADLEY EAGLE on the water bottle!
Attached is a description of items available and an order form to purchase items (4Ocean Items) (4Ocean Order Form 2022). Please be sure to write your student’s name and teacher/room # on the order form. All items must be paid for with CASH ONLY, no checks or credit cards. There is also a $1 shipping and handling fee for each order. We will not be able to accept orders after Monday, March 7th.
Thank you for helping to make a difference in our present and future well-being. Be sure to look for the blue flier/order form in your child’s backpack.
With appreciation and gratitude,
The First Grade Team
