School News

    • Remember No School May 27 – Memorial Day
    • DPS Summer Resources: With summer break around the corner, community resources are increasingly more valuable as we continue to serve our students and families while school is out of session. Some of our families and students may encounter additional challenges during breaks so it’s important that we connect them to resources that best serve our community. Please share these summer resources and programs with your school communities, which include summer programming hosted by the City of Denver and DPS.
    • DPS Early Bird Online Registration: Early Bird Registration: This year the Early Bird window will be Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 29 (extended time).  At the beginning of each school year, ALL DPS families will need to complete the Online Registration. The Online Registration registration is ONLINE ONLY and is REQUIRED FOR ALL DPS FAMILIES!  Registration can only be completed by the parent guardian listed in the primary household of the student record. Parents/guardians must have an active DPS Parent Portal account; check for an active account or create an account at myportal.dpsk12.org. For instructions on Online Registration, please find a step-by-step guide HERE.
    • Lost & Found: Please check and have your student check the lost and found area for missing items. The L&F area is gathering new items daily! All unclaimed items will be donated on May 31st.
    • Skate City Summer Card: As the countdown to the end of the year I’m sure is in full swing, it’s that time again for summer skating and the Skate City Summer Membership Card Program! With costs continuing to rise in all aspects of our daily lives, we want to be able to see the students and families within our communities be able to enjoy a fun, healthy, and safe activity to enjoy throughout the summer months at a discounted rate. With a $5 summer membership card, anybody can skate all summer long for just $1 admission, AND your school earns back $2 for each card sold! Over 28,000 summer cards were sold just last year, and already seeing families ask about them again this year… Below you will find all the details regarding the summer membership card program and getting your school set up to offer the cards to the students, staff, families, and friends. IB Learner Profile of the Month
The Learner Profile for the month of May is “Reflective”. Students who are reflective give thoughtful consideration to their learning and experience.  They are able to assess and understand their strengths and limitations in order to support their learning and personal development.

Activities for Parents:

  • Spend some time reviewing your child’s report card with them.  They should have the opportunity to look at this document and consider it well. Discuss it with them and truly consider their thoughts and their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • As we begin to wrap up this school year, have your child take some time to think about what they have learned this year-both socially and academically.  Have them create goals for themselves to continue the growth and reflection process.
  • Attend IB Student Led Conferences on May 3rd, so that your child can reflect on the different learning experiences they have had the opportunity to engage with!
  • May IB Attitude

News from the Nurse:

  • For students who are ill, please call the Attendance Line at 720.424.9398. After three days of illness, you need to provide a doctor’s note to be able to keep excusing the absences.
  • Medication Pick Up: Please stop by the nurse’s office to pick up your students’ medication by June 5th. Please contact Nurse Shayla t 720-424-9394 with any questions.

CSC:

  • CSC 2024-25 Election: CSC Election Notice: Every school within the Denver Public School District has a Collaborative School Committee (CSC) in place.  The Bradley CSC is different from the Bradley PTO.  Unlike the PTO, the CSC focuses on bringing together staff, parents, and community members to create and implement a plan to promote high achievement within the school. Being a part of the CSC is an exciting opportunity to be involved in our school community, not to mention to participate in the education of all our students. When we return to school for the 2024-25 school year, we will hold elections for three open parent positions on the CSC.  We hope you’ll consider serving. In the meantime, if you would like more information concerning the CSC, please contact Steph Itelman, CSC co-chair, at steph.itelman@gmail.com
