News from the Nest….

  • Welcome BACK TO SCHOOL!! The teachers and staff have been busy getting ready to welcome our Eagles to the 2023-24 school year!

School News

  • School day for students is 7:40am – 2:40pm.
      • 7:25am: Breakfast & playground supervision available for drop off.
      • 7:35am: Teachers will pick up students on the playground.
      • 7:40am: School begins! ALL doors will close and lock, so please use the MAIN ENTRANCE only after this time.
      • Parents will not be allowed in the building before school.
  • Late students must enter through the MAIN ENTRANCE after 7:40am for security reasons.
  • Parents may only enter the building through the MAIN ENTRANCE and must go directly to the main office to check-in.
  • Parking: Arrival and Dismissal
      • When arriving at school for drop-off and pick-up DO NOT park in front of our neighbor’s driveways, coned areas or in the crosswalks!
      • If you are using the Kiss and GO area at the main entrance, make sure to keep the line moving! There is no parking in the Kiss and GO Zone.  
      • With the exception of paying Discovery Link Parents, do not use the teachers’ parking lot for student drop-off or pick-up.

Electronics:

  • Other than chromebooks, all other electronics are not allowed at Bradley.
  • CSC: Each school in Denver Public Schools has a Collaborative School Committee (CSC) that includes family members, teachers, and community members. CSC members collaborate to provide input to school leadership that promotes high achievement within the school. The CSC provides recommendations regarding the school calendar, priorities for spending money, and the plan the school creates to ensure academic progress and a high-quality school environment (the UIP). If you are interested in learning more about Bradley’s CSC and planning for the 2023-24 school year, including ensuring membership is representative of our school community, please send an email to BRADLEYibcsc@gmail.com in your preferred language by Friday, September 1, 2023. Parent TO DO List: 

    • Online Registration – all DPS families are required to submit their online registration through the parent portal. To set up the parent portal, you will need your student’s ID number. You can email Emma_Dunrud@dpsk12.net or call the office at 720-424-9468 to get this number. To do this, please follow the instructions: DPS Online Registration Information
    • Free & Reduced Lunch Application: All DPS families are required to submit the FRL application each year even if you know you will not qualify. DPS gets funding which helps the free lunch. This year breakfasts and lunches free to all DPS Students. Please fill out the application here: DPS Free & Reduced Lunch App

  • VOLUNTEER: Volunteers in the school must fill out the DPS Volunteer form each year and must be cleared before volunteering in the classroom. DPS Volunteer

News from the Nurse:

  • For students who are ill, please call the Attendance Line at 720.424.9398 
  • ILLNESS SYMPTOMS- If your student has a fever or exhibits any symptoms related to COVID-19 or any other infectious disease they must stay home and avoid coming to school. Anyone with a fever or vomiting must remain home and fever-free for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medication. Please continue to call the attendance line to report absences. 
  • Students who present these symptoms at school will be sent home (Fever, vomiting, coughing, cruddy/runny nose, etc.)
  • NUTS: Please make sure that you don’t bring items with nuts into the classroom, as we have students with allergies to nuts.
  • MEDICATION: If your student needs medicine during the school day, please contact our nurse Shayla Marak at 720-424-9394 to discuss the necessary paperwork.

Community News

  • South by SouthEast Festival is Saturday, August 19th. 
    • WHEN: Sat, Aug 19, 11:00 am – 7:00 am – Kicks-off with a kid bike/scooter/stroller parade at 11:00 with TJ Cheerleaders
    • WHERE:  Bible Park
    • WHAT:  live music, food trucks, beer garden, games, local vendors
    • IT’S FREE & EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
    • Bible Park is centrally located in southeast Denver and bikeable from most neighborhoods.
  • University Hills Neighborhood association MOVIE NIGHT! 6-10PM – Bradley Field area. Enjoy Mud and Marrow, food trucks, a puppet show, yard games, face painters, and fun for everyone!
