Within the last ten years, several of the Bradley teachers have been honored in the Denver community for their dedication and commitment to teaching. In short, going above and beyond!
Meg Cypress, 5th grade – In 2019, Mrs. Cypress won the Colorado Teacher of the Year Award and in 2015, Mrs. Cypress received the 9News-9 Teachers Who Care Award. She has been teaching for 16 years, and 15 of them have been at Bradley. Mrs. Cypress is passionate about making sure students want to be at school, and she goes out of her way to make learning fun and engaging.
Ellen English, 1st grade – In 2013, Ms. English received the Distinguished Denver Teacher Award. Ms. English has been a teacher at Bradley for 23 years, and has been an educator for 32 years. Mrs. English absolutely loves teaching first graders and wants all of her students to leave school happy and they always do thanks to her enthusiasm.
Andrea Holmes, 2nd grade – In 2017, Mrs. Holmes also received the Distinguished Denver Teacher Award. Mrs. Holmes has been teaching at Bradley for 28 years, and she has been an educator for 39 years. She believes that “character counts” and loves teaching children to push themselves to become better students. Mrs. Holmes retired at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
Lisa Zinn, ECE – In 2017, Ms. Zinn was recognized as a “Fearless Leader” by Denver’s Early Childhood Council for her commitment to teaching young children for over 27 years, and leading the Early Childhood Education team at Bradley for the last 20 years. Miss Zinn is a tireless advocate for students and families, always striving to create meaningful relationships with both. She is also an active and a very integral member of our University Hills neighborhood.
