Principal Update
Wow! Can you believe we have already completed our first half of the school year? Time sure does
fly! We have had many exciting accomplishments, tremendous growth from our students both
academically and socially, as well as engaging community celebrations and events. This week we
had an exciting holiday performance form our K-2 students. We want to give Mr. Yaden a huge
shout out for organizing the performance and getting our students in the holiday spirit. We wish
you all a restful, safe and fun break and we are excited to welcome everyone back in the new year!

Meal Support
The City and County’s Office of Children Affairs is offering a free supper and/or snack at any Tasty Food site for youth (ages five-18) across Denver during the holiday break! No registration or ID is required. Access the Tasty Food schedule flyer (in English and Spanish) for more information. Details on holiday schedule changes and planned holiday closures will be available on the Tasty Food website.
Session 3 After School Enrichment Class
The next session of after school clubs will be from the week of January 13th through the week of March 3rd. Please mark your calendars once you’ve signed up for a club so you know the days of clubs. Please make sure payments are made directly to the instructor within the first 3 weeks of the session (the office does not handle payments or make change, make sure you bring exact change for each club if you are paying cash) via Venmo/check or cash, otherwise students will no longer be able to keep attending classes. Please make sure you sign up with your child’s name, not parent’s name, their teacher’s name, and how they will be picked up. Registration CLOSES Wednesday January 8 at 4pm. HERE is the Flier
News from the Nurse
If your student has borrowed clothes from the nurse, please wash and return them. We are in need of clothes for kids ages 6-9, gently used clothes would be appreciated. Thank you!
December IB Learner Profile
The Learner Profile for the month of December is Principled. Those who are principled act with integrity and honesty, and a strong sense of fairness, justice, and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups, and communities. They take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them.
Activities for Parents
- Involve your child in deciding on the rules for a game or activity and then ensure that they stick to the ones that have been decided upon.
- Encourage your child to play games that involve teams. Discuss with your child the qualities of a team player. What sort of person would they want on their team?
- When playing a game, don’t change the rules or let your child win. Help them understand that being a gracious loser is as important as being a good winner.
- Recognize or praise when your child demonstrates principled behavior like sharing, standing up for others, or admitting to a mistake!
- Ask your child to name the positive and negative behaviors in stories that they have read.
- Join us at Sipping N’ Painting for a family painting event on January 26 – $35 per person and Bradley gets money back! Space is limited – sign up here.
- We are planning a family skate night at Skate City in Aurora on March 1st! Put it on your calendar for 6:30-8:30pm!
