Bradley Weekly Newsletter
At Bradley International School, students are a critical part of our school systems. Through the newly created Student Council, our 5th graders will have the opportunity to gain leadership skills, public speaking skills and decision making skills in order to be the voice for their peers.
As this is our first year launching the group, we want to make sure that we get it right. During this school year, we are only opening the process up to fifth grade students with the hopes of expanding to other grade levels next school year. Additional information, including due dates and application information are attached in this flier. Please review this and talk with your child about joining! (Note: all meetings will be held during 5th grade lunch so they will not miss any class time; however, they may be pulled out 1-2 times for a very short time during parent tours in January).

Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15-October 15 is Hispanic heritage month: This 30 day period is a time to honor the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. The observation began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period. We acknowledge that we have a diverse population of students. We aim to uplift the importance of our students learning about different heritages, backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences in order to become more knowledgeable and informed citizens. We hope you will engage in at least one resource to help our students grow in curiosity, engage in conversation, and share in new learning. Shared learning helps us grow as a community. Resources: De La Tierra at Colorado History Museum; Free Fridays – Museo De Las Americas; Festival del Sol; DCPA – I’m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter
September IB Learner Profile
The learner Profile for the month of September is Communicators! Communicators understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and by a variety of modes of communication. They work effectively and willingly collaborate with others.
Activities for Parents
CSC Nominations
Last call for parents to be elected to the CSC! If you are interested in running for one of the 3 open positions, submit your nomination form by midnight tonight, 9/13! What is the Bradley CSC? The Bradley Collaborative School Committee (CSC) provides guidance regarding decision-making for the school. It is made up of elected parent representatives, community members, teachers, staff members and the principal. We meet monthly for an hour to discuss the Unified Improvement Plan, staffing allocations, school budget and school culture. We strive to enhance student achievement and school climate by engaging the school community in supporting school and district goals.
