Fun Run was a BLAST!
Have a great FALL weekend!
Bradley Weekly Newsletter
What a fun week at Bradley! On Monday, we kicked off our week with the ‘Dances of Mexico’ for Hispanic Heritage Month. Students learned about different Mexican dances and explored cultural diversity. This event helped us embody the IB Learner Profile attribute of being open-minded, as we deepended our appreciation for different cultures. Today we had a blast at the Fun Run, which highlighted the power of collaboration and commitment. It was heartwarming to see our students working together, demonstrating the caring and balanced traits as we pursued a common goal. Both activities showed that when we work together, we truly are stronger.

BESS Survey
As part of our effort to support our students’ Whole Child, the Denver Public School District is once again implementing a universal mental health screening the Behavior and Emotional Screening System (BESS) for students.
Universal social and emotional screenings can provide a fair and impartial way to have students report how they are progressing in their social and emotional development. Screenings can also help identify areas where school staff can improve or adjust supports. Universal social and emotional screening is NOT an assessment or an evaluation. Instead, screenings are a useful tool to help identify students who may need extra social or emotional support. Additionally, universal screening allows Bradley International to adapt school-wide and/or grade-level or classroom programming to meet the needs of the student body.
The online tool takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Students in grades 3 through 5 self-report their answers. For students in grades kindergarten through 2, the questions are completed by classroom teachers. The social and emotional screening for students will occur two times per school year between Sept. 23 – Oct. 4 and again Feb. 24 – March 5, 2025. Repeated screening helps us determine if the supports we provide to students are meeting their needs.

October Count
What is October Count? It’s the timeframe for the District to get funding for students. Please try to have your student attend school on Tuesday, October 1st. The October Count window is September 24 – October 8. Students should be in attendance all days of the count window. Tardies will be scrutinized as well so please make a plan to get to school on time starting next week and start a trend to be on time the rest of the year.
Attendance
Please call the attendance line at 720-424-9398 to report your child’s absence or if they will be late to school for an appointment or any other reason. You can also submit an absence request through the Parent Portal, click here to see how.
Lost & Found
Please check the lost & found items that have been collected so far this year. This area is in the stairwell across from the main office. There are lunchboxes, backpacks, sweatshirts, coats, water bottles, etc. All items will be donated at the end of September. Please write your students name in their items so we can easily return them. Thank you!
Clothes to Kids of Denver
Located in the University Hills shopping area next to the Chez Artiste Movie Theater, Clothes to Kids of Denver proudly provides new and quality used clothing in a boutique setting to Denver area students from low-income or in-crisis families, free of charge. After the busy back to school shopping season, they are in need of clothes to restock their racks. Please see the items they are looking for HERE. CSC Election Results
The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) received three nominations for the three open parent/guardian positions. We are excited to welcome Jacquie Aamodt, Jenny Ardourel, and Daniel Horsey to the Bradley CSC for the 2024-2025 school year. They will join current members Jose Sanchez, Anneli Taylor, and Josh Tenneson, who are entering the second year of their terms.
What is the Bradley CSC?
The Bradley Collaborative School Committee (CSC) provides guidance on key school decisions. It consists of elected parent representatives, community members, teachers, staff members, and the principal. The CSC meets monthly for an hour to discuss topics such as the Unified Improvement Plan, staffing allocations, school budget, and school culture. The goal is to enhance student achievement and school climate by engaging the community in supporting school and district objectives.
All CSC meetings are open to the community, and a portion of each agenda is reserved for public comment. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month after the Bradley PTO meeting, starting at 4:00 PM in the library. Meeting dates are listed on the Bradley website calendar, and agendas and minutes are also available on the website. The next meeting is on October 17. We’d love to see you there!
